Job summary

Itec in Cardiff is seeking an Essential Skills Tutor to train and assess learners for Essential Skills Wales in Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy. You will deliver sessions, register and invigilate tasks, manage assessments, and ensure well-documented progress while supporting learners and employers regionally.

The role requires delivering high-quality training, maintaining quality standards, and travelling to learners' workplaces as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of Work Based Learning and Award Body practices.
• Experience of delivering Essential Skills Qualifications.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check and EWC registration.
• Welsh speaking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy support through workshops and one-to-one sessions.
• Register, conduct, and invigilate controlled tasks per awarding body requirements.
• Manage teaching and assessment tasks including preparation, marking and standardisation.
• Engage learners and employers in qualification attainment and skills development.
• Maintain quality standards and accurate learner documentation.
• Travel within a regional area to assess learners in workplaces.
• Support planning, monitoring and achievement of targets.
