Responsibilities

• Attend training, staff meetings and related role meetings.
• Assist with event administration, including attendance data input and responding to student queries.
• Contribute to social media marketing of events and activities.
• Generate event ideas and assist with planning and organisation.
• Lead at least one event per week: setup, attendance, activity, and queries.
• Ensure events comply with health and safety policies.
• Be a trusted point of contact for students in the halls and inform staff of issues.

Here at UPP we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Home at Halls Representative to join our Reading team. Candidates must be current University students who are living or have previously lived in the University Halls of Residence. You must also be available to attend a compulsory training session (date to be confirmed).

Role responsibilities include: Attending and participating in training, staff meetings and other meetings relevant to the role Assisting with administration associated with the events including inputting attendance data, responding to student queries and other associated event administration. Contributing to the social media marketing of events and activities. Contributing events ideas during planning and assisting with organisation. Leading a minimum of one event per week. This will involve setting up the event, registering event attendance, leading the activity and responding to queries that may arise. Ensuring the event is conducted safely in accordance with health and safety policies. Actively promoting upcoming events to event attendees Gathering feedback and assessing during events from attendees Attending relevant training provided by UPP and its partners Be a trusted part of the halls community by being a point of contact for students, answering questions and informing staff on issues within the halls of residence.

We are looking for you to have great communication and organisation skills, along with experience of running or working at events and the passion to work as a team to do an excellent job. You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the need arises, including evening and some weekend working.
