Job summary

National Trust is seeking a customer‑focused supervisor to deliver high standards of service across holiday venues and cottages. You will lead and train caretakers, coordinate rotas with bookings, and ensure safe, compliant operations while staying active on site and visiting sites as needed.

You’ll need experience in holiday/hospitality settings, strong people skills, and a solid grasp of housekeeping, health and safety procedures. A flexible, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a holiday business or hospitality settings.

• High standards of housekeeping, presentation and maintenance.
• Ability to supervise and support others in a team.
• Familiar with health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Answer guests' questions and ensure excellent service across Trust places.
• Coordinate rotas with bookings, organise changeovers and service cleans.
• Supervise caretakers and lead training, coaching and development.
• Manage stock control, buying and stores; recruit staff and inductions.
• Respond to incidents promptly to keep everyone safe and compliant.
• Tackle unplanned tasks to maintain standards and guest happiness.

Job description

Your focus will be on giving great service to everyone who chooses to stay in a Trust place. You want them all to have a very happy holiday. You'll be answering their questions, following our usual procedures, and working with the local Trust teams, as well as Contact Centre staff, to make sure we're being consistent and keeping standards high everywhere. Sometimes you'll be working at a desk, and sometimes you'll be out and about visiting holiday cottages and other sites, some of which may be remote. You'll keep the wider team on track with compliance requirements. You'll be the first point of contact for the caretakers. You'll supervise and lead them through training, coaching and development. You'll be co-ordinating rotas with bookings, organising changeovers and service cleans, and efficiently managing stock control, buying and stores. You'll help to recruit new staff, providing clear inductions and training. You'll help to respond to incidents and do all that's needed to keep everyone safe. You'll also tackle unplanned tasks as they arise to help keep standards high and people happy.

We'd love to hear from you if you're:

• someone with practical operational experience in a holiday business
• good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
• used to achieving high standards of housekeeping, presentation and maintenance
• able to supervise and support others in your team
• confident with Microsoft Office
• familiar with health and safety procedures and compliance, and writing risk assessments
