Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in North West London from September 2026. You will work closely with teachers to support pupils with SEMH, ASD and complex needs, helping them access education and progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, delivering targeted interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure EHCP outcomes and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to support pupils with SEMH, ASD and complex needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with pupils, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD and complex additional needs.
  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group learning support.
  • Supporting the delivery of lessons and learning activities.
  • Helping pupils develop their academic, personal and social skills.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Building strong, consistent and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Adapting learning and support strategies to individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Supporting teachers with classroom organisation and pupil progress.
  • Promoting independence, confidence and engagement with education.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
