Job summary

The Flying High Academy in Mansfield is seeking a Teaching Assistant who can provide PPA cover, short-term cover, and lead class teaching under supervision. The role is aimed at HLTA-qualified or HLTA-track practitioners who can mentor other support staff.

You will plan, prepare and deliver learning activities, assess pupil progress, and build positive relationships with children while upholding safeguarding and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or working towards HLTA status.
• Experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision, including PPA and short-term cover.
• Ability to plan, assess and give feedback to support pupil progress.
• Strong communicator who can mentor staff and work with families.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for teaching staff, including leading class teaching under supervision, PPA cover and short-term cover for absent staff
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities, including whole-class teaching, under an agreed system of supervision
• Support the whole class, small groups or 1:1 support for children with additional needs
• Assess and report on pupil progress across the curriculum using a range of monitoring and evaluation methods
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing and personal development
• Work with class teachers, support staff and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment
• Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures and model the school's values in all interactions
• Positive role model and committed to inclusion and wider school life
