Job summary

The Flying High Academy invites applications for a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children across the classroom, working with the class teacher and wider staff to deliver high-quality learning.

Ideal candidates will be HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status, with experience in whole-class teaching, planning, assessing and providing feedback to support pupil progress, and a positive, inclusive approach.

Qualifications

• HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status.
• Experience delivering whole-class teaching.
• Ability to plan, assess and provide feedback to support pupil progress across the curriculum.
• Positive role model who can lead, mentor and support other staff.
• Strong communication with teaching teams, parents and external professionals.
• Committed, resilient, inclusive with safeguarding duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for teaching staff, including leading class teaching (under supervision), PPA cover, short-term cover for the absence of other staff
• Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities (including whole-class teaching) under an agreed system of supervision.
• Assess and report on pupil progress across curriculum areas, using various monitoring and evaluation methods.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.
