What the job involves

• Provide cover for teaching staff, including leading class teaching under supervision, PPA cover and short-term absence cover
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities, including whole-class teaching, under an agreed supervision system
• Support pupils across whole-class, small-group and 1:1 settings, including children with additional needs
• Assess and report on pupil progress across curriculum areas using monitoring and evaluation methods
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support learning, wellbeing and personal development
• Work with class teachers, support staff and families to create a nurturing, inclusive environment
• Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures and model school values

Experience

• Experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision, including PPA and short-term cover

Skills & knowledge

• Highly skilled and confident practitioner
• Planning, assessment and feedback skills to support pupil progress across the curriculum
• Leadership and mentoring of other support staff
• Strong communication with teaching teams, parents and external professionals
