Job summary

Oakbridge School, part of Kedleston Group, is seeking an HLTA (Level 4) to lead Maths and Science interventions across our Birmingham campus. You will deliver targeted support, monitor progress and work with teachers to remove barriers to learning.

This term-time, full-time role requires GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above), a Level 3 qualification, and commitment to ongoing professional development. A driving licence and readiness for school driver training are advantageous.

  • Cover lessons to support staff absence or training.
  • Maintain accurate intervention records and support safeguarding and wellbeing.

£27,126 (SCP 11) - £29,916 (SCP 17) per year actual salary

We’re looking for a dedicated, energetic HLTA (Level 4) to join our fantastic team.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leading Maths and Science interventions, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

What you’ll be doing as a HLTA (Level 4):
  • Lead and coordinate targeted Maths and Science interventions to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Provide individual and small-group support, monitoring progress and achievement against agreed goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to identify and meet pupils’ additional learning needs.
  • Ensure EHCP Section F provision is delivered effectively and consistently.
  • Cover lessons when required to support staff absence, training, or operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate intervention records, contribute to external agency reporting, and promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
What we’re looking for:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) and/or relevant further study
  • Commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development
  • Full driving licence and willingness to complete school driver training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with strong written, verbal, and ICT skills
  • Experience working in an educational setting (ideally specialist provision)
  • Understanding of supporting pupils with learning needs, behaviour, or child development
  • Awareness of neurodiversity, trauma, and the impact of ACEs

Established in 2018, Oakbridge School is an independent special day school in Birmingham with a specially designed learning environment created to meet the needs of autistic children. In November 2025, Oakbridge School moved into its newly developed site in Handsworth Wood, further enhancing our specialist facilities and educational provision.
