Job summary

Spaldwick Primary School is seeking an HLTA for a fixed-term maternity cover. The role is 19.5 hours per week, 08:30–15:30, three days per week, term time plus two training days (38.4 weeks per year). You will deliver whole-class and small-group teaching, lead interventions and support learning across year groups.

The successful candidate will have HLTA qualification or equivalent, strong teaching skills and a collaborative approach to school improvement within a warm village setting.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong classroom experience across more than one year group.
• Ability to deliver planned curriculum and lead interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned curriculum activities for a whole class or identified groups, including class cover for PPA and sickness.
• Prepare lessons and resources with teachers and senior staff.
• Lead targeted interventions to improve reading, writing and maths attainment.
• Provide clear feedback to pupils, parents and teachers and assist with progress monitoring.
• Support behaviour management and inclusion to create a safe learning environment.
