Job summary

Spaldwick Primary School in Huntingdon is seeking an experienced HLTA to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term contract. The role is 19.5 hours per week during term time plus two training days, delivering planned curriculum, leading interventions and supporting PPA cover.

You will work with the class teachers to prepare resources, monitor progress, and contribute to inclusive education within a warm village school community.

Qualifications

• Qualified HLTA (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering whole-class and small-group teaching.
• Ability to lead targeted interventions and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned curriculum for whole class or groups, including class cover for PPA.
• Prepare lessons and resources with teachers and senior team.
• Lead interventions to improve reading, writing and maths attainment.
• Provide constructive feedback to pupils, parents and teachers and contribute to progress monitoring.
• Support behaviour management and inclusive learning environments.
• Mentor other teaching assistants during sessions and support staff development.
