Job summary

Willowdown Primary School in Bridgwater invites applications for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support learning across the school and lead activities when required. You will work with teachers to raise achievement, promote inclusion, and help pupils develop confidence and a love of learning.

The role is a fixed-term contract, 32.5 hours per week, starting 01 December 2026 and ending 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent is required.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to assess, monitor and support pupil progress.
• Belief that every child deserves the best opportunities and a commitment to inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Support learning across the school and lead lessons when required.
• Help raise pupil achievement and promote independence and inclusion.
