Job summary

Willowdown Primary School in Bridgwater is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our warm, inclusive team. You will support learning across the school, lead lessons when required, and help pupils develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.

As a Thrive-accredited school within the Futura Learning Partnership, we value collaboration, wellbeing, and professional development. This fixed-term role is 32.5 hours per week, with dates 01/12/2026–31/08/2027.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent and has a strong understanding of teaching, learning and child development within a primary school setting
• Ability to lead learning activities and support pupil progress across the school
• Demonstrates proactive, supportive involvement in the wider life of the school

Responsibilities

• Support learning across the school and lead lessons when required
