Job summary

Willow Wood Community Primary School in Sunderland is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support KS2 learning. The post is permanent from 1 January 2027 with a pro rata salary of £24,951 (term time only).

Responsibilities include supporting classes, delivering and tracking interventions, providing cover, and helping improve attendance. The school offers a committed staff team and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, predominantly Key Stage 2.
• Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
• Enthusiastic, flexible and resilient.
• Determination to enhance outcomes for children.
• Willing to undertake relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning in classes.
• Delivering and tracking interventions to raise attainment and progress.
• Acting as cover for classes as required.
• Supporting school in increasing attendance and reducing lateness.
• Covering breakfast club provision.
