Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across primary schools in Bridgwater. Roles available on a day-to-day supply basis, as well as short-term and long-term placements starting from November 2026.

The HLTA will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and 2, deliver planned lessons in the absence of the teacher, and provide targeted support to pupils.

Qualifications

• A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3).
• HLTA status or willingness to work towards HLTA status.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum; able to lead whole-class learning when required.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons in the teacher's absence.
• Lead small group interventions and provide one-to-one support.
• Help create a positive and engaging learning environment for pupils.
