Job summary

Cury School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our new primary provision in Cornwall, working 30.5 hours per week during term time plus inset days. The role supports teachers, delivers parts of the curriculum, and helps raise pupil attainment within a SEMH-focused setting.

You will supervise classes in teachers' absence, promote independent learning, and contribute to safeguarding and welfare of pupils, while engaging in ongoing professional development with the Special

  • Experience supporting pupils in primary education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering the curriculum and assessing pupil progress.
  • Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences.
  • Support pupils, teachers and TA colleagues to raise standards of achievement.
  • Encourage pupils to become independent learners and support their welfare and inclusion.
  • Uphold HLTA standards in all aspects of work.
  • Engage in professional development and performance review processes.
