Job summary

East SILC is inviting applications for a temporary Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join the team at the East SILC, with initial placement in the sensory and communication pathways at John Jamieson. The post may involve working across sites and requires interest and experience in supporting learners with complex needs.

• Experience working with learners with complex needs.
• Ability to plan learning activities and assess learner progress.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning and address the personal needs of learners.
• Work with Teachers and Teaching Assistants to raise learning and attainment.
• Support learners individually or in groups to access the curriculum and promote independence.
• Produce planning to support delivery of learning activities and assess progress; planning assisted by teaching staff.
