Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a SEN Reception class in Streatham, Lambeth. You will lead teaching for a small group of pupils with ASC and complex needs, delivering adaptive lessons and supporting EHCP targets.

The role involves collaboration with the SENCO, therapists and staff, personal care where required, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice. Term-time, full-time with DBS checks offered.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or demonstrable HLTA-level experience.
• Experience supporting or teaching children with Autism and SEND.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons independently.
• Demonstrates inclusive and adaptive teaching approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching sessions for Reception-aged pupils with SEND.
• Adapt activities to meet EHCP targets and pupil needs.
• Support pupils with autism and complex communication, sensory, and learning needs.
• Provide personal care support as required with dignity and respect.
• Create a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment/reporting.
