Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Bolton school on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis. You will support teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum and lead learning activities as required.

The role involves supporting pupils with SEND, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and working closely with staff to ensure high-quality support for every child.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in a primary school setting.
  • Confidence supporting learning across year groups.
  • Experience with pupils with SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers with planning and delivery of engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Lead whole-class, small-group and targeted activities as required.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils needing additional help.
  • Support pupils with SEND and adapt activities to needs.
  • Cover classes and deliver pre-planned lessons when required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and pupil confidence.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers and professionals to support individual pupils.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Requirements or Skills:


  • Level 4 qualification or relevant HLTA experience.

  • Recent experience working within a primary school setting.

  • Confidence supporting learning across different year groups.

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable.

  • Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to lead learning activities independently and confidently.

  • A positive and adaptable approach to working with children.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a school team.
