Job summary

Protocol Education in Wakefield is seeking a passionate History Teacher for a full-time supply role starting in January at a local secondary school. The role covers Key Stages 3 and 4, with planning, delivering and assessing lessons aligned to the national curriculum.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has UK secondary experience, strong subject knowledge, and excels in classroom management. You will be supported by a dedicated education consultant and have access to ongoing professional development

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school.
  • Strong knowledge of History and curriculum delivery.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of students, with DBS Update Service.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Monitor and support student progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and school life.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

History Teacher (Supply) - Full Time

Wakefield Secondary School | January Start

Are you a passionate and dedicated History Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield on a full-time supply basis from January.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established Humanities department, delivering engaging History lessons that inspire students and foster a love of learning.

The Role
  • Full-time History Teacher position

  • Teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching History within a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
