Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a History Teacher for a long-term supply position at a Sunderland secondary school, with an immediate start available. You will deliver engaging History lessons to KS3 and KS4 and contribute to the Humanities team from day one.

The role offers a competitive MPS/UPS salary (£32,916–£51,048) and weekly PAYE payments, with opportunities for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent.
• A degree in History or closely related discipline.
• Proven experience teaching History at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering History lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Developing students' source analysis, essay writing, and critical thinking skills
• Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Contributing to Humanities departmental planning and whole-school events
• Supporting students preparing for GCSE History examinations
• Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
