Job summary

The Education Network is seeking a qualified History teacher (QTS/ECT) for a long‑term supply role in Warwickshire, commencing September 2026. You will teach History across KS3–KS5, plan and assess lessons, and support GCSE/A‑Level progression.

You'll contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom and uphold high academic standards, with a focus on developing critical thinking and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • HOLD QTS or be an ECT.
  • Experience teaching History across KS3–KS5.
  • Confident delivering the secondary History curriculum.

History Teacher Key Details


  • Position: QTS / ECT History Teacher

  • Location: Warwickshire

  • School: Outstanding Grammar School

  • Start Date: September 2026

  • Contract: Long-term supply

  • Salary: £175 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)

  • Key Stages: KS3 – KS5



Responsibilities


  • Teach History across KS3 to KS5, delivering engaging and academically challenging lessons that develop students’ historical knowledge, analytical skills, critical thinking, and understanding of significant events and periods.

  • Support students in making strong progress while preparing them for GCSE and A Level qualifications.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Uphold high academic expectations while encouraging students to question evidence, develop well-reasoned arguments, and engage critically with the past.



Qualifications / Experience


  • Hold QTS or be an ECT.

  • Have experience teaching History across KS3 to KS5.

  • Be confident delivering the secondary History curriculum.

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and analytical skills.

  • Have strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have a genuine passion for History and inspiring young people.
