Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a History Teacher based in Caerphilly to deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 in local secondary schools. The role offers flexible day-to-day, short-term and longer-term cover with a focus on consistent high standards and classroom management.

Qualified teachers with QTS or PGCE (Humanities) and registration with the EWC are encouraged to apply. Competitive daily rates start from £173, with weekly pay and holiday pay for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering energetic, engaging, and accessible History lessons across KS3 and KS4 that ignite students' passion for the past.
• Seamlessly stepping into different classrooms to deliver pre-planned or adaptive lessons, ensuring high standards of learning are maintained.
• Creating an inclusive environment by adapting your teaching style to support students of all abilities, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN).
• Managing classrooms confidently to foster a positive, respectful, and structured culture aligned with each school's behaviour policies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE with a specialisation in Humanities.
• Proven experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.
• A creative, engaging approach to teaching with the confidence to manage classrooms effectively.
• Passion, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people's academic growth.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or readiness to register.
