Alecto Recruitment Limited is partnering with a successful machinery business to appoint a Hire Manager who will own a busy hire operation. You will oversee the desk from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring exceptional customer service.

This role offers a £35,000–£45,000 basic salary, Monday to Friday pattern, and real potential to influence revenue and fleet utilisation within a supportive team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the hire desk, ensuring customers receive an exceptional service from enquiry through to delivery and collection.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the full hire process from start to finish
• Coordinating machinery availability and fleet utilisation
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Maximising revenue and equipment utilisation
• Working closely with service and sales teams
• Handling quotations, bookings and contract administration
• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction at all times

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Hire Manager, Hire Controller or similar
• Background within plant hire, tool hire, machinery, construction equipment or a related industry
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment
