AFI-Rentals is hiring a Hire Desk Controller to join a fast-paced, customer-focused team at the Wakefield depot. The role involves handling hire enquiries, checking availability, coordinating with engineering and transport, and resolving customer queries with professionalism.

The successful candidate will be outgoing, detail-oriented and proficient with Microsoft Office and our hire system. Experience on a hire desk is advantageous and a strong team player is essential.

Qualifications

• > Previous experience in a customer-focused role is a must, and attention to detail when processing information into our hire system.
• > A good knowledge of Microsoft packages and general computer skills are expected.
• > You must be outgoing and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and a friendly approach.
• > Timekeeping and using your initiative are important aspects of the role.
• > Experience working on a hire desk would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• > Take hire enquiries via telephone, email, and our online ordering system and process them into our hire system.
• > Check machine and operator availability and keep order statuses up-to-date.
• > Coordinate with engineering and transport teams to ensure correct machines are ready for delivery.
• > Handle customer queries, complaints, and damages professionally.
• > Maintain health and safety standards within the hire office and provide a friendly contact for depot enquiries.
