Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Hire Desk Controller for its Castleford depot in West Yorkshire. The role calls for a background in plant hire (telehandlers preferred) and a customer-focused approach to manage bookings, quotations and equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Prev. plant hire / material handling experience required.
• Experience coordinating bookings and handling customer enquiries.
• Understanding of hire contracts, equipment availability, deliveries and off-hires.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Proactive and reliable with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming customer enquiries by telephone and email.
• Provide quotations and advise on equipment availability.
• Coordinate plant and telehandler hire bookings and allocate equipment.
• Arrange deliveries, collections and off-hires with transport teams and customers.
• Monitor hire contracts, extensions and returns with accurate records.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
• Collaborate with depot team, drivers and staff for smooth daily operations.
• Ensure hire paperwork and system records are up to date.
