Job summary

Speedy is hiring Hire Controllers in Basildon for permanent and 12-month fixed-term contracts starting ASAP. You’ll be at the heart of depot operations, managing customer enquiries and hire orders to ensure customers get the equipment they need, when and where they need it.

You’ll coordinate with drivers and the depot team, build strong customer relationships, and keep records accurate. A positive, proactive mindset and strong organisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the hire industry, customer service, sales or a similar operational environment.
• Great communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

We’re looking for

Hire Controllers to join our team in Basildon, with both permanent and 12-month fixed-term opportunities available for an ASAP start.

You don’t necessarily need previous hire industry experience. If you have a background in customer service, sales, coordination or a fast-paced operational environment, and you’re keen to learn, we can help you build your career with Speedy.

What will you be doing?

As a Hire Controller, you’ll be right at the heart of our depot operation, helping make sure our customers get the equipment they need, when and where they need it.

You’ll be:

• Managing customer enquiries and hire orders from start to finish.


• Building great relationships with customers and delivering excellent service.


• Coordinating equipment availability, deliveries and collections.


• Working closely with our drivers, engineers and wider depot team.


• Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally.


• Keeping hire information and system records accurate and up to date.


• Helping the team maximise equipment utilisation and achieve depot targets.


• Supporting the delivery of Speedy’s ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
