Job summary

Speedy Hire in London is hiring a Hire Controller to manage the end-to-end hire process, from order to delivery and collection, coordinating with depot teams to meet customer needs.

The role is desk-based, with strong emphasis on organisation, communication, and teamwork across stock, drivers and engineers to minimise delays.

You will work Monday to Friday, with a view to delivering excellent service and supporting our ESG and People First initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Adaptability and a willingness to learn.
• Commitment to develop professionally.
• Valid driving licence.
• Experience in hire industry or similar sales/operational role.
• Ability to support ESG strategy – Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete hire process from order to delivery and collection.
• Liaise with depot stock teams, drivers and engineers to fulfil customer needs.
• Build relationships to ensure consistent high levels of service.

Job Title - Hire Controller

Location - London

Working Hours - Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week

Based in the depot, the Hire Controller is a vital part of operations on the front line of sales and customer service. Relationship building is the key to success, as the Hire Controller coordinates the entire hire process from taking the order through to delivery and collection, liaising with every part of the depot to ensure the needs of the customer are met and that they’re satisfied with our service.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be desk-based, working directly with the other departments, liaising regularly with stock teams, drivers and engineers to ensure minimal delay in fulfilling the needs of the customer with readily available equipment and close contact.
