Job summary

The Hire Place UK, part of the Places for People Group, is seeking a Hire Controller to join our team on site. The role covers the full hire process, dealing with customers and arranging hire and sales of equipment, with paperwork, route planning, and supplier orders.

Based on site five days a week (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm), the role emphasises customer service, quotations, procurement, and building relationships. Experience in the hire industry is a plus but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing on/off hires.
• Experience in providing/raising quotations to customers.
• Procurement relating to hire and purchase of equipment.
• Ability to build working relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Basic mathematical ability and numeracy for invoicing and planning.

Responsibilities

• Deal with customers and arrange hire and sales of goods and equipment.
• Complete the appropriate paperwork and plan driver routes.
• Handle invoice queries and place orders with suppliers.
• Carry out related tasks as required by the hire business.
• Role is based on site 5 days a week (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm).

Job description

We are The Hire Place UK, part of the Places for People Group; we are looking for a Hire Controller to join our team.

This role is a varied and interesting role which requires involvement in the complete hire process and is an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of the functions within the hire business.

The primary function of this role will be dealing with customers, and arranging hire and sales of goods and equipment, completing the appropriate paperwork, planning driver routes, dealing with invoice queries, placing orders with suppliers and related tasks, along with many other duties that may be required from time to time.

This role is based on site 5 days a week (Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm).

Ideally applicants should have experience of:

• MS Office including Outlook/Word/Excel, as well as basic mathematical ability.
