Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a technical engineer to provide support across Streetscene and Transportation services, ensuring highways projects meet safety standards and council policies.

You will inspect sites, prepare drawings and cost estimates, manage contracts, handle data analysis and liaise with contractors and the public. A technical qualification such as HNC/NVQ4 and strong IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC or NVQ4 in a technical discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Broad technical knowledge across engineering or transport service areas.
• Experience using engineering design standards and technical specifications.
• Strong IT skills including use of technical engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support across highways, street works and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications and cost estimates.
• Support traffic management schemes, road safety improvements and investigations.
• Monitor works to ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards.
• Analyse data, maintain databases and prepare performance reports.
• Liaise with contractors, Council departments and the public.
