Job summary

Flintshire County Council is recruiting a Technical Officer (Level 2) to support Streetscene and Transportation across highways, traffic management, road safety, and infrastructure. The role involves preparing technical drawings, supervising minor works, and maintaining asset records within a local authority setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site measurements, inspections and surveys to meet specifications.
• Prepare drawings, engineering plans, work specs, tender docs, BOQs.
• Support development of traffic management schemes and road safety improvements.
• Monitor highway works for compliance with legislation and standards.
• Supervise minor works contracts for safety and contractual compliance.
• Assess developments against highway design standards.
• Investigate public complaints and provide recommendations.
• Maintain highway asset databases, GIS records and maintenance schedules.
• Collect and report on service performance and contractor activity.
• Support procurement and ensure adherence to Council policies.
