Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Technical Director of Highways in the UK. You will lead multiple technical teams across highways, asset management and infrastructure design, shaping strategy and driving growth for major programmes.

You will lead bid strategies, win new business, and build senior client relationships at regional and national levels, while overseeing design quality and project delivery in live environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in senior technical leadership within highways/civil engineering.
• Experience with local authorities, developers, and major infrastructure clients.
• Oversee design, review and assurance of engineering outputs.
• Live project delivery experience in construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple technical teams and senior managers on highways projects.
• Shape strategic direction of the highways discipline with senior leadership.
• Win new work and grow major client accounts at regional/national level.
• Own bid strategy and develop competitive, high-quality submissions.
• Maintain senior-level client relationships and influence outcomes.
• Drive revenue growth, margins, WIP control, and overall account success.
• Recruit, develop and inspire engineering teams; champion technical excellence.
