Job summary

Amey, a leading UK infrastructure services company, is seeking a Highways Technology Engineer to join the Area 12 team. You will support maintenance and repair of roadside technology assets across the National Highways network, including electronic signage, CCTV, traffic signals, and communications equipment.

The role requires travel across Area 12 with a depot in Goole and a 43.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a rotating days/nights pattern.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Qualification in electrical or engineering field.
• Experience in highways technology or similar engineering environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance on highways technology assets including signs, signals, CCTV, emergency roadside telephones and related systems.
• Undertake planned maintenance in line with client requirements and industry standards.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on highways communications equipment.
• Produce accurate reports and records of maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Support project delivery activities with coordination of suppliers and authorities.
• Assist with technology upgrades and asset improvement programmes.
• Support emergency response when required.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.
