Job summary

DCS Engineering is seeking an experienced Technology Engineer to install, maintain and commission roadside technology across NH East contracts. The role involves practical hands‑on work with electrical/electronic equipment, coordinating with operations and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have ONC/HNC in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, experience with roadside systems, DBS clearance and readiness to travel including night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and/or maintaining electrical or electronic equipment.
• ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with or knowledge of HERS.
• Basic IT skills (Word, Excel).
• Willing to travel across NH East contract sites.
• Comfortable working roadside and at height.
• Willingness to undertake night work when required.
• Ability to complete a basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the installation, commissioning and maintenance of roadside technology equipment.
• Undertake software, hardware and systems testing.
• Work safely and promote a strong safety culture across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Produce and maintain required Health & Safety documentation.
• Support the Assistant Project Manager with the planning and delivery of projects and tasks.
• Oversee operational teams and specialist subcontractors on site.
• Ensure productivity and quality targets are achieved.
• Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and wider project teams.
• Support the successful delivery of roadside technology works across the regional highways network.
