Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Technology Design Engineer to support the delivery of highways technology solutions across the full project lifecycle.

You will develop design packages for ITS, communications, power and digital infrastructure, producing drawings and technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with DMRB and National Highways standards. Join a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and future-ready infrastructure across major UK projects, while contributing to design

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Communications or Technology Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in highways or infrastructure technology design.
Knowledge of National Highways standards (DMRB, TA401).
Experience with ITS, communications or digital infrastructure systems.
Experience using CAD or digital engineering tools.
Strong problem-solving with ability to meet deadlines.
Clear communication and collaborative stakeholder approach.

Responsibilities

Deliver technology design across ITS, communications, power and digital infrastructure.
Produce drawings, specs and technical documentation (2D/3D).
Ensure compliance with DMRB, National Highways and industry standards.
Apply design assurance, supporting reviews and gateway compliance.
Identify and mitigate technical risk for right-first-time delivery.
Support ITS, comms networks and smart / IoT-enabled infrastructure.
Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
Contribute to bids, innovation, digital engineering and team development.
