Job summary

Amey in Glasgow is seeking a Permanent Highways Technician to support the Bridges Scheme Delivery Team in delivering safe, compliant highway works in the Polmadie area. The role focuses on site delivery, safety, documentation and stakeholder liaison.

The successful candidate will have relevant highways or civil engineering experience, knowledge of CDM Regulations, and a full UK driving licence, with IT proficiency and strong collaborative skills. A degree in engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a highways or civil engineering role preferred.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, highways safety and site management practices.
• Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Delivery Manager in safe, efficient delivery of highway works.
• Assist with Principal Contractor duties in line with CDM Regulations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Prepare and review Construction Phase Plans, RAMS and compliance documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety visits; address actions.
• Coordinate subcontractors, resources, programme and site activities.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and local authorities.
• Maintain site records and project documentation.
• Promote safety culture via toolbox talks and briefings.
• Support incident reporting and continuous improvement actions.
