Job summary

Amey Ltd in Glasgow is recruiting for a permanent Highways Inspector to join the NMC South West team based in Polmadie. You’ll help inspect trunk road networks, record defects, and support data-driven reports while collaborating with field and operations teams.

Full UK driving licence is essential; a PHS certification is preferred. Training and development are provided to grow your highway operations and asset management skills.

Qualifications

• Flexible, outdoors-based role with 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Training provided for role and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled inspections across the South West road network
• Identifying and recording defects and safety issues
• Collecting and managing inspection data accurately
• Supporting the production of reports and technical information
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently
• Assisting with investigations and inspections relating to incidents and third-party claims
• Following health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
• Building positive relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
