Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join the Consulting Structures Team in Scotland. You will lead design work on major road schemes, mentor junior designers and collaborate with Transport Scotland and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.

This role offers flexible working patterns including hybrid options across Perth, Motherwell and Edinburgh with a focus on technical excellence and safe delivery of schemes worth significant value.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with relevant experience leading road schemes.
• Ability to supervise junior designers.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare regulations.
• Ability to act as CRE for Network Rail schemes when required.
• Chartered status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to produce technically sound engineering solutions, complying with standards and client requirements.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Oversee actions of junior staff undertaking similar tasks and mentor them.
• Be responsible for the commercial success of projects, controlling budgets and costs.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.
• Contribute to bids and the work-winning process.
• Drive health and safety practices within the team.
