Job summary

Amey is seeking a Highways Team Leader to manage Winter & Cyclical activities across the Staffordshire County Council account. The role is on-site at the Gailey depot (ST19 5PR) and across Staffordshire, with a 40-hour work week.

You will oversee winter and cyclical maintenance, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient resource use while coordinating across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working on a Highways Maintenance Contract.
  • Full UK Driver’s License.
  • People Management Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high technical standards and oversee various work activities.
  • Ensure team and public safety in compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, manage records, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance operations and manage resources efficiently.
  • Carry out Winter supervision on our designated nightshift (Oct-April).
  • Support Out of hours service.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Team Leader to join our dynamic Staffordshire County Council Account. This role will be carried out on-site, at our Gailey depot (ST19 5PR), and across Staffordshire.


As a Highways Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing Winter & Cyclical activities across our designated sections. Your responsibilities will span various maintenance aspects, including Iver-seeing Winter maintenance and Cyclical maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality, monitoring resource utilisation, and fostering effective communication among stakeholders.


This position offers a competitive salary, and the standard hours of work are 40 hours per week.


What You’ll Do:


  • Maintain high technical standards and oversee various work activities.
