Job summary

Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Officer to join the Network Coordination Team in Calderdale. You will inspect highway works to ensure compliance with permit conditions under the All Streets Permit Scheme and NRSWA, including scaffolding, skips and vehicle crossing applications.

Reporting to the Street Works Engineer and Network Coordination Manager, you will work independently and as part of a team, communicating clearly with utility companies, contractors and the public.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Applicants who currently hold NRSWA Supervisor accreditation are encouraged to apply; training available to obtain qualifications.
• A full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of highway works to ensure permit conditions and statutory requirements are met.
• Inspect scaffolding, skips, temporary highway obstructions and vehicle crossing applications.
• Communicate with utility companies, contractors, developers and council officers to explain issues and maintain safety and efficiency.
