Job summary

Calderdale Council’s Network Coordination Team is recruiting an inspector to verify road and street works on the authority’s highway network comply with permit conditions and statutory requirements.

You will perform inspections under the All Streets Permit Scheme and related activities, including scaffolding, skips, temporary obstructions, and vehicle crossing applications, working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, street works, utilities or related sectors.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation encouraged; training provided if not held.
• A full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of highway works to ensure permit compliance and statutory requirements.
• Inspect scaffolding, skips, temporary obstructions and vehicle crossing applications.
• Engage with utility companies, contractors, developers, council officers, elected members and the public.
