Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a proactive Highways Enforcement Officer to protect the highway network and enforce street works legislation. You will investigate unauthorised works, carry out site inspections, liaise with utility companies and contractors, and take enforcement action to secure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate highway issues including unauthorised works and obstructions, and take appropriate enforcement action.
• Conduct site inspections and gather evidence to support regulatory processes and compliance.
• Liaise with utility companies, contractors, developers and members of the public to resolve highway-related issues.
• Maintain records, prepare reports and contribute to decision-making based on legislation and policy.
• Respond to customer enquiries with professional advice on highway legislation and related matters.
• Support network management duties to minimise disruption and protect highway assets.
