Job summary

Amey Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Highways Maintenance Pre-siter to join the Area 7 Highways team. You will assess planned highway works with pre-site visits, determining labour, plant and materials to deliver activities safely and efficiently.

The role involves coordinating with supervisors, planners and the schemes team, maintaining records and communicating clearly with delivery teams. A full UK driving licence and SMSTS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of highway maintenance operations
• Strong health and safety knowledge
• SMSTS qualification with CDM Regulations knowledge
• Experience using CAT and Genny equipment
• GS6 training or knowledge of GS6 requirements
• Knowledge of traffic management, drainage, fencing and Vehicle Restraint System works
• Ability to interpret statutory utility drawings
• Computer and tablet skills
• Planning, record-keeping and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Knowledge of Area 7 road network
• Ability to work with operational teams, clients and the public
• Proactive attitude and willingness to develop skills

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-site assessments for traffic management and civil works
• Determine labour, plant, equipment and materials needed
• Identify appropriate access arrangements
• Use CAT and Genny equipment and interpret utility drawings
• Place material orders and ensure resources are available
• Maintain accurate paperwork and digital records
• Communicate pre-site information to delivery teams
• Attend project meetings and briefings
• Drive and operate relevant vehicles and plant
• Support winter maintenance and emergency call-out operations
