Job summary

Marlborough Highways is seeking an experienced Permitting Coordinator to join our busy Garman Road depot in Tottenham. You will manage permit applications through to completion, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines.

Working closely with Project Managers and Supervisors, you will coordinate road space bookings, maintain accurate permitting records in Excel, and report monthly KPI data to keep projects progressing safely, legally, and on schedule.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in permit coordination or streetworks administration (utilities or highways preferred).
• Strong understanding of permit durations, extensions and FPNs.
• Confident Excel skills with the ability to analyse, interpret, and report data.
• Experience with Confirm, Symology, Causeway, Mayrise or Street Manager (desirable).
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme.

Responsibilities

• Managing and tracking permit applications to completion, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines
• Raising, coordinating, and closing works notices in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitoring permit durations, ensuring works remain on schedule and arranging extensions where required
• Liaising closely with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate and manage road space bookings effectively
• Maintaining accurate permitting records and trackers using Excel and Microsoft Teams
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with Local Authorities and other key stakeholders
• Coordinate with 3rd parties regarding; bus stop suspensions, parking suspensions, Temporary Traffic Orders (TTO’s) and TMAN applications
• Monitor reinstatement inspections and proactively resolve any issues relating to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and inspection data
• Preparing and reporting on monthly KPI data.
