Job summary

Marlborough Highways is seeking a Permitting Coordinator to join our busy Tinkers Lane Depot team. You will manage permit applications, track progress, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to keep works moving safely and on schedule.

You will liaise with Project Managers, Local Authorities and 3rd parties, maintain permitting records in Excel, and report monthly KPI data while supporting a culture of safety and accuracy within our growing highway services division.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar permit coordination or streetworks administration role (utilities or highways experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of permit durations, extensions, Major works and FPNs.
• Confident Excel skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and report on data.

Responsibilities

• Managing and tracking permit applications to completion, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines
• Raising, coordinating, and closing works notices in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitoring permit durations, ensuring works remain on schedule and arranging extensions where required
• Liaising closely with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate and manage road space bookings effectively
• Maintaining accurate permitting records and trackers using Excel and Microsoft Teams
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with Local Authorities and other key stakeholders
• Coordinate with 3rd parties regarding; bus stop suspensions, parking suspensions, Temporary Traffic Orders (TTOs) and TMAN applications
• Monitor reinstatement inspections and proactively resolve any issues relating to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and inspection data
• Preparing and reporting on monthly KPI data.

Marlborough Highways have a fantastic opportunity for a permitting coordinator to join a growing business within a busy department at our Tinkers Lane Depot.

Within this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring our projects are fully compliant with all relevant permitting requirements. You’ll be responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining permits through to completion; enabling works to progress safely, legally, and in line with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience with Confirm and Street Manager (desirable)


• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail


• Solid understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme
