Job summary

Marlborough Highways is seeking a Permitting Coordinator to join the Performance team at our Windsor depot. You will manage, track and maintain permits through to completion, ensuring projects progress safely, legally and on schedule.

The role requires 2–3 years in permit coordination or streetworks administration, strong Excel and data reporting skills, and knowledge of relevant highway regulations. This full-time role offers opportunities to work closely with project managers and Local

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of permit coordination or streetworks administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of permit durations, extensions, major works and FPNs.
  • Confident Excel skills with data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with Confirm and Street Manager (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and tracking permit applications to completion, ensuring regulatory compliance and deadlines.
  • Raising, coordinating, and closing works notices promptly and accurately.
  • Monitoring permit durations, ensuring on-schedule works and arranging extensions as required.
  • Liaising with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate road space bookings.
  • Maintaining permitting records and trackers using Excel and Teams.
  • Building relationships with Local Authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinating with 3rd parties regarding bus stop and parking suspensions, TTOs and TMAN applications.
  • Monitoring reinstatement inspections and resolving issues related to FPNs and inspection data.
  • Preparing and reporting monthly KPI data.

Description

Marlborough Highways have a fantastic opportunity for a permitting coordinator to join a growing business within a busy department at our Tinkers Lane Depot.

Within this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring our projects are fully compliant with all relevant permitting requirements. You’ll be responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining permits through to completion; enabling works to progress safely, legally, and in line with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for the Permitting Coordinator include:

  • 1. Managing and tracking permit applications to completion, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines
  • 2. Raising, coordinating, and closing works notices in a timely and accurate manner
  • 3. Monitoring permit durations, ensuring works remain on schedule and arranging extensions where required
  • 4. Liaising closely with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate and manage road space bookings effectively
  • 5. Maintaining accurate permitting records and trackers using Excel and Microsoft Teams
  • 6. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with Local Authorities and other key stakeholders
  • 7. Co-ordinate with 3rd parties regarding; bus stop suspensions, parking suspensions, Temporary Traffic Orders (TTO’s) and TMAN applications
  • 8. Monitor reinstatement inspections and proactively resolve any issues relating to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and inspection data
  • 9. Preparing and reporting on monthly KPI data.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1. 2-3 years’ experience in a similar permit coordination or streetworks administration role (utilities or highways experience preferred)
  • 2. Strong understanding of permit durations, extensions, Major works and FPN’s
  • 3. Confident Excel skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and report on data
  • 4. Experience with Confirm and Street Manager (desirable)
  • 5. Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail
  • 6. Solid understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme
