Job summary
Amey Ltd invites applications for a Highways Maintenance Apprentice within Area 7, based at Pytchley/Rothersthorpe. Starting salary £29,904 per annum, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rotating day and night shifts.
You will be enrolled on the Lead Traffic Management Operative Level 2 apprenticeship, supported by Amey and a partnered college. The role offers hands-on highway maintenance experience, mentoring, and a clear development pathway across UK projects, with benefits and long-term
Qualifications
- Enrolled on Lead Traffic Management Operative Level 2 apprenticeship, ~21 months.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for consideration.
- Random drug and alcohol testing will be conducted to ensure safety.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance activities on highways.
- Undertake minor civil works, drainage works and patching.
- Maintain safety standards and attend project briefings as required.
- Drive and operate vehicles and plant requiring general or specialist skills.
- Record driver hours and resource usage accurately.
- Liaise with Amey staff, subcontractors, emergency services and the public.
