Our client, based in the East Midlands, is looking for a Highways Drainage Senior Technician to join their busy and hardworking team.

Key skills required for this role

Important

Supporting the management of the Highway Drainage and Flood Risk Management functions in accordance with:

• 'Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice 2016'
• 'Guidance on the Management of Highway Drainage Assets 2012'

Supporting the continuous development and improvement of the County Council's role as a Highway Authority, ensuring it remains a high-achieving authority. Contributing to the delivery of the Council's duties to maintain the highway asset stock, providing a safe and reliable highway network for all users.

The role includes:

• Line management by the Senior Project Engineer - Flood Risk Management
• Working with teams including Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Senior Technicians, Technicians, External Resources, Inspection Assistants, Apprentices, and Trainees
• Supporting and working closely with the council Highways Hub
• Building excellent working relationships within Network Planning and other Highway Service departments for collaborative working
• Advising Elected Members and Senior Managers
• Engaging with local communities, community groups, and service users
• Partnering with Police, emergency services, statutory undertakers & utilities, Highways England, neighboring authorities, and other external stakeholders
• Supporting network management and coordination across the county, within three geographical network areas
