Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Highway Drainage and Street Cleansing Project Manager in Manchester to lead a targeted initiative tackling long-standing obstruction to drainage and cleansing caused by parked vehicles. You will coordinate across Highways, Waste Management, Street Lighting and partner services to deliver data-led, risk-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or MSc in a related field, or HNC/HND in highway/civil engineering, or Chartered/Incorporated Engineer.
• Experience in highways/local authority environments overseeing maintenance.
• Ability to prepare reports and business cases with clear metrics.
• Asset management experience using Alloy Causeway or similar, and knowledge of GMRAPS.

Responsibilities

• Identify locations where parked vehicles obstruct drainage and cleansing activities.
• Develop and manage programmes addressing access issues through stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate with residents, Members and contractors to gain support for temporary parking restrictions.
• Ensure joined-up delivery across Highway Operations, Network Management, Waste and Cleansing.
• Programme cleansing and maintenance with contractors and service providers as scheduled.
• Arrange traffic management and road space requirements to facilitate access.
• Lead communications to inform residents and businesses about planned works and benefits.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and maintain governance records.
