Job summary

Kier Design is hiring a Design Engineer to join the Structures & Geotechnical team in Norwich. You will support delivery of Civil & Structural Infrastructure projects for Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail and water sector clients.

The role emphasizes buildability, safety, and value engineering within Kier's internal consultancy framework. In this position, you will work closely with clients and stakeholders to develop technically solid and buildable designs, contributing to

Qualifications

• IPD IPD with IEng, EngTech or CEng IPD or equivalent.
• Level 6/7 qualification with relevant experience.
• Significant practical relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Permanent Works design for structures, highways, geotechnics and infrastructure within an integrated design and construct offering.
• Support tender and bid activities through outline design, feasibility studies and concept development with focus on buildability and innovation.
• Deliver alternative solutions and value engineering to strengthen competitive position.
• Review 3rd party designs for compliance with Kier requirements and client standards.
• Fulfill Job Leader responsibilities: define technical requirements, develop fee proposals, oversee design deliverables and ensure quality management.
