Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Construction Assurance Manager to join the Midlands team, based in Birmingham or Nottingham. You will ensure delivery of capital schemes on time, within cost and to quality and safety standards, while safeguarding customer experience.

You will coordinate with Project Managers and supply chain partners, manage early warnings and compensation events, and ensure compliance with CDM, DMRB, MCHW and Chapter 8 requirements across high-speed networks.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (civil preferred) or proven highways/construction experience.
• Experience with site-based processes, legislation and policies for health, safety, environment and quality management, including CDM Regulations.
• IOSH or SMSTS preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience in using NEC 4 ECC contract form.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate concerns to the Construction Manager.
• Ensure works adhere to CDM regulations, HSE, DMRB, MCHW and Chapter 8 requirements.
• Provide regular feedback on scheme construction progress, risks and issues to Project Managers; act as escalation point for on-site issues.
• Coordinate delivery programmes with supply chain partners and perform buildability reviews on projects.
• Maintain liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement teams, providing timely information on Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
